Samantha Sim
Netball Coach
Qualification; L1 Netball Coach
As a competitive player in my school years, netball was put on the back burner while I worked abroad in my late teens and early twenties…
My coaching path has been very organic in the sense that while keen to get involved and help out… I didn’t set out to be coach. I have a full time job, running my own printing business.
However in 2019 it was time for my daughter to begin her love affair with Netball, becoming one of the first members of Christchurch Netball Club. Loitering around the court entrance while Ivy trained… Coaching was like a calling!
I rapidly went from picking up loose balls, and helping with registration, to assisting in sessions, qualifying as a level 1 coach and now soon to be level 2!
In the middle of all of this, I also discovered a passion within a passion!
The game itself is never short of players but it seems that the umpires who control the game are in short supply…
I quickly worked through the officiating pathway to achieve my C award in the summer of 2023, and also began my journey as an England Netball accredited Officiating Mentor.
Being awarded the Ray Marsh Umpiring Award in September 2023 at Bournemouth Netball Association annual awards for “attributes to grass-roots umpiring” was an incredibly surreal and humbling experience.

At Atorro Sports, I am fulfilling the role of Operations Manager, whereby I look after all aspects of the monthly subscription plans and payg bookings on our classforkids booking system for tennis and netball juniors and adults, along with administration of our holiday clubs and the after school clubs we offer, whilst ensuring our master database is kept up-to-date. I provide logistical support at trials and deal with England Netball membership status for the teams and of course deal with all incoming email queries.
