Our first course for young, keen want to be Umpires!
When you reach Year 8 you have the opportunity to take your “Intro to Umpiring Course”, the official course with England Netball. However we find the course is great but the more practice the better! So we are introducing our own course to support the girls with extra skills before they go on the course.
This session is suitable for junior netballer’s aged 9+ (year 5 and up) and is designed to provide a base knowledge of umpiring, how to identify obvious infringements of the rules and how to apply correct use of voice and whistle.
Attendance will not provide participants with a qualification or award as it’s just a introduction and opportunity to skill up.
Information will be provided for those wanting to progress their umpiring career further.
Suitable clothing and footwear to play and umpire is essential.
If a whistle is owned, please bring it along!
Participants will be encouraged to to practice their new skills in training sessions and future club event.
